  Obituary in The Mississippi Press, Wednesday, April 26, 2006: “Mr. Rodger Grady Blades, 46, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi died April 25, 2006 in Jackson County. He was a Police Officer with the Ocean Springs Police Department for the past two years and had been in law enforcement with other agencies in Jackson County for over 15 years. Rodger was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Blades, two brothers, Randy Blades and Clark Blades. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Romanus Clark Blades of Ocean Springs; brother, Richard Richie' Blades and fiancee' Sandra Leonard, both of Vancleave; uncles and aunts, Lee Bert and Frances Blades of Moss Point, J.D. (Dink) and Katherine Blades of Mobile; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2006, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, with honors by local law enforcement agencies. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006, from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Father Patrick Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.”
